Dr. Carson graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Zoology from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He received his MD degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah. He then completed an Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Carson has an Oklahoma Medical License and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He is a member of many organizations including the American Academy of Pain Management, American College of Rheumatology, and the American Medical Association. He has published multiple journal articles, been involved in research, and received numerous awards of excellence throughout his career.
Dr. Gallardo received her Doctor in Medicine Degree from the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in Argentina in 1991, and after completing a residency in Ophthalmology she became Board Certified in Ophthalmology in 1996. Dr. Gallardo moved back to the United States and completed a residency in Family Practice at the Oklahoma University Health Science Center in 2009. She is Board Certified with the American Board of Family Medicine. After 6 years of treating patients with chronic pain conditions, including arthritis, spinal conditions, fibromyalgia and migraines among others, Dr. Gallardo joined OAC in December of 2016. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, American College of Rheumatology, Oklahoma State Medical Association and Ophthalmic Photographer's Society.
Dr. Kumar has been practicing Rheumatology at Oklahoma Arthritis Center for over 10 years. She received her BS in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma (OU) and her M.D. from the University of the West Indies. Dr. Kumar’s post-doctoral training included a residency in family medicine at OU and a rheumatology mentorship here at the Oklahoma Arthritis Center. She is board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Pain Management, the American Medical Association, Oklahoma State Medical Association, American Association of Family Practice, Physician Member of the American College of Rheumatology, and the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin.
Dr. Zacharias has been with Oklahoma Arthritis Center since 2007. She received her BS from Simmons College in Boston and graduated from the University of the West Indies where she received her M.D. Dr. Zacharias completed her residency at the University of Virginia Roanoke-Salem Program and her Rheumatology fellowship training at the University of Oklahoma. She is American Board of Internal Medicine certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine as well as certified by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry in Bone Densitometry and the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. Her professional memberships include: American College of Rheumatology, American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians. She also has experience in clinical trials and sub-investigator research.
Eric is a nationally certified Physician Assistant, and a proud member of the medical provider team at Oklahoma Arthritis Center. He began serving the patients of Oklahoma Arthritis Center in 2011, after spending 15 years in surgical specialties such as heart surgery, orthopedics, and neurosurgery. Eric received his degree from the OU Health Sciences Center and is a member of the Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants. He is a member of the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals, where he recently served on the Practice Committee.
Cindy has been a licensed Physician Assistant at Oklahoma Arthritis Center since 2002. She received her Master of Health Science Degree from OU Health Sciences Center where she graduated with honors. Cindy is a member of the Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Association of Physician Associates. She has volunteered at Integris Baptist Hospital Emergency Room and United Way as a counselor.
Jama is a Physician Assistant licensed by the American Academy of Physician Assistants and has dedicated her career serving patients at Oklahoma Arthritis Center since 2001. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Oklahoma Christian University and her Masters from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Her passion for helping patients with Autoimmune diseases is fueled by the personal impact Rheumatoid Arthritis has on her family and loved ones.
Emily joined our team in March of 2016. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Master of Health Science, Physician Associate after completing a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Oklahoma State University. During her Physician Assistant training, Emily spent a five week clinical rotation with Oklahoma Arthritis Center and developed a love of Rheumatology. Emily is a member of the Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants and the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals, and lives in Edmond with her husband and two young children.
Sheril is a Nurse Practitioner originally from New York, where she spent five years as a Registered Nurse at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Hospice and Acute Geriatric/Transitional care. Sheril completed her Master of Science in Adult Gerontology Primary Care from New York University, and is board certified in Adult Gerontology Primary Care by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Sheril joined our team in October of 2015 when she moved to Oklahoma City.
Christi is a Nurse Practitioner originally from Tulsa, OK. Christi has been a Registered Nurse for eight years and spent five years working as a Registered Nurse at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital and OU Medical Center before completing her Master of Science in Nursing from Maryville University and joining our team in 2015. Christi is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
